Sanya is a city with 700,000 inhabitants at the southern tip of Hainan Island; the southernmost point in China. The 8.4 km tram line will link Sanya Railway Station to the city centre; wireless system with overhead charging at stops - 01 Jan 2019: soft opening of initial section between Sanya Railway Station and Jiefang Road (limited service) (3.9 km) - 10 Oct 2020: full operation on entire line between Sanya Railway Station and Jiangang Road (8.4 km)
